THE INDIAN IMMIGRANT EXPERIENCE IN JUMPHA LAHIRI’S THE NAMESAKE.
Abstract
Immigration is a crucial thing that cannot be enjoyed wholeheartedly by foreigner especially Indian migrants. Everyone would feel happy when they migrate to other country and it is not possible in all cases. Not all the immigrants received good respect and secure place to lead their life in a happy way. Culture, language, identity are the very big problem faced by many of the Indian migrants moving to many parts of the world. The same was experienced by a whole family migrated from a Bengali family. The novel The namesake is a best example for the struggle of the Indian migrants moving across many parts of the country.
